Depending on whether you are aiming for "IELTS Academic" or "IELTS General", you will need to select the type of study material you use for your preparation.

www.e2language.com: The study material provided by e2language.com is well organized, and navigating and using the website is intuitive. They have a good collection of study material to offer on their website. Most of their study material is available when you buy a subscription, which they call a "package." However, there is an option to try their content free of charge for 30 days. You do, however, have to signup to be able to use the "free trial" option.

2. ieltstrainingonline.com

ieltstrainingonline.com: This website claims to be a community-driven online resource for anyone preparing for IELTS tests, Academic or General. They offer all of their content free of cost. According to the introduction on the website, their content is a result of contributions from IELTS teachers and students.

There are practice tests for all 4 sections of IELTS. There are audio recordings provided for the "Listening" section, which are followed by respective questions. There is a good amount of material on the "Speaking" section too, written in the form of a dialog between the examiner and the test-taker.

One potential drawback of using this website is too many banner ads running on almost every page, which makes it hard to navigate through and read the material on the pages.

3. mini-ielts.com

mini-ielts.com: This website is very well-designed, and works well on small-screen devices (smartphones and tablets). Although, on the homepage, they recommend using a laptop or desktop, "For the best test taking experiences with full features." This website provides quality IELTS preparation content free of charge. There are many mock tests to prepare for the "Reading" and "Listening" sections of the test. Taking mock tests can be a way to expose yourself to a variety of questions in different settings, and also improve vocabulary. This website has a good collections of: model answers, lessons, tips, free videos, band scores and advice for each section of the IELTS test.

At the time of writing this article, we could not find study material for the other two sections, "Writing" and "Speaking", of IELTS Tests.
